TabyanInn Marinara Sauce

This is the basic marinara sauce we use at the TabyanInn. Don't let the simplicity fool you—the tastes meld into pure red gold! The recipe is simple and easy to make. We’ve even make this on vacation in rooms where we had a kitchen!

Ingredients

How To Make

Heat olive oil in a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat.

Add garlic, stirring frequently. Cook for 1 min. until fragrant. Do not burn.

Add tomatoes, red pepper, salt, oregano and black pepper. Stir until ingredients are combined. Add the basil sprig, gently pushing it down into the sauce.

Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 15 min. Discard basil sprig.

Serve immediately.

Prep time: 5 min. Cook time: 25 min. Makes about 1 ½ cups of sauce.
