This wonderful recipe makes a great chicken that falls apart, along with a rich creamy gravy. We use it to make chicken and dumplings as well.
- 2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 packets dry chicken gravy mix
- 1 can Cream of Chicken soup
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Thickener, if needed
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. There is no need to brown them or otherwise cook them.
In a small bowl, whisk together the gravy mix, soup, broth and pepper. Pour over the chicken in the slow cooker.
Cook on low for 6 hours. Shred the chicken with two forks in the slow cooker.

If the gravy is too thin, mix the cornstarch and water together, then add to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 10 minutes more.
