This is a great breakfast dish that is quick to make and just plain delicious. You sit down and visit over coffee while you wait for it to bake.
- 2 cans crescent roll dough
- 1 lb. breakfast sausage
- 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
Preheat oven to 375F. Place cream cheese out to soften.
Brown sausage in a large skillet on medium heat, breaking into small crumbles. Drain grease.
Return sausage to skillet, and add cream cheese. Heat on low heat until cheese melted, stirring to combine. Remove from heat.
Spread out 1 can of crescent roll dough a cookie sheet. Press any seams together. Spread the sausage mixture over the dough, leaving a small border along the edges.
Spread the other can of crescent dough over the top of the sausage mixture, pressing the edges together to seal them, and pressing any seams together.
Heat in the oven for 11-13 min, until the crescent dough is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let rest for 4-5 min.
Cut into small 2" squares with a pizza cutter and serve.
Prep time: 10 min.
Cook time: 25 min.
Serves: 6-8.

The sausage can be varied for different flavors. We get a blueberry pork sausage from Whole Foods, and it makes this dish fantastic.
