Traci and I have this thing about Bloody Marys–we are always disappointed. That is until now–my Uncle Rocky showed us how to make a basic Bloody Mary that will never disappoint!

4 oz. V8 juice
1.5 oz. vodka
A good dose of key lime juice, about 2 teaspoons
A few dashes of celery salt, to taste
A few dashes of Worcestershire sauce, to taste
A few dashes of Tabasco sauce, to taste
Olives
Celery

Put ice in a tall glass. Add the key lime juice, then vodka and V8. Stir.

Add the remaining ingredients. If you do not like spicy Bloody Marys, do not add any Tabasco. If you like them spicy, add more…

Serve with olives and a celery stalk.

Notes

Traci and I have a saying: "It’s a Bloody Mary." We use that for anything we get that we know will disappoint us, but we get it anyway. The thing is, though, when Uncle Rocky made these for us at the family reunion in 2019, it wiped away all of those bad memories and left a clean, wonderful drink.

The keys to this drink are the proportion of V8 to vodka–4 oz to 1.5 oz.; key lime juice, not regular lime juice; and keeping it simple!
