Have you ever flown before, and used the restroom in an airport? Yes? Then you know some are better than others. Here is a tool to help you know which are which.

What is the ARR?

The Airport Restroom Report (ARR) is my attempt at a tool that travelers can use to help them know which airports have the best–and the worst–restrooms. I am gathering this information when I travel–and by close, personal experience.

Ratings will be by the following criteria and information:
Airport code, terminal and location.
1 to 5 stars, 5 being the best.
Restroom capacity.
Quality of fixtures in the restroom.
Cleanliness.
Any other general notes or comments about the restroom and surrounding area.

This is obviously not rocket science… but it will definitely provide some good, solid description of the facilities–and which ones to avoid.

Is This Necessary?

Yes! When I first started doing this, some people I know just laughed and called me crazy. Still, I knew the ARR was providing a valuable service for the traveling public!

I really wish I had started this a long time ago. I recently retired, and had traveled extensively for the US Air Force. One of the experiences that just became more important as I got older was the quality of the restrooms in the various airports we traveled through.

Frankly, I just got tired of putting up with, pardon the expression, crappy bathrooms. As I passed this information on to others at work, the initial reaction was laughter or just strange looks. But… I could see their minds starting to think about it–and knowing that they wanted the real information for the next time they flew!

Why Do This Now?

Well, Traci and I are about to start doing some traveling, especially to some exotic locations that we will not visit that often. That includes places out of the country–and how many times do you get to experience that in your life?

Like I said, I wish I would have started this a long time ago. Still–no time like the present! So I will be gathering data, making my observations here and on Instagram, and passing the info on to you, dear readers!

I hope that the Airport Restroom Report provides you some value, and some useful information on your travels…
