I’m a little late on writing this, but Traci and I have now had 10 years being married here at the TabyanInn. Even with a global pandemic, we had a great time, and look forward to many more.
Traci and I started seeing each other in September of 2008, and got married on June 29, 2010. We went to the island of Maui to get married, and then had a big party with family and friends when we came back.
It has been 10 wonderful years since then, and I think we love each other more now than when we got married. I just can’t imagine my life without her.
We had planned to go back to Maui for our anniversary, and even had the tickets and reservations made… but then, of course, then COVID hit.
The pandemic put a crimp in our plans, but we are just grateful that we are still healthy, have our jobs, and have not lost any family members.
We debated a few different plans for an anniversary vacation, but could not get past flying or going somewhere where everything might be closed. So we settled on an “Oklahoma Vacation,” where we picked a number of places and things to see all around the state of Oklahoma.
You know what? We had a blast! We drove to all four compass points, seeing things people talk about, but rarely actually go see. We saw things like Alabaster Caverns, the Will Rogers Museum (Claremore, OK), Turner Falls, the Big Blue Whale… we even saw the Worlds Largest Peanut (Durant, OK)!
All of this reminded us that life is never what you expect, but sometimes much, much more. It has been a wonderful 10 years here together at the TabyanInn—and here’s to 100 more!
Marc
Your story is such a sweet one. Few find their true match, but it sounds like you two did! Congrats and here’s to many more decades together!
