Baked Cheese Grits Casserole
This dish is very cheesy and just flat-out delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 cup grits cooked in 4 cups water
- 6 eggs (beaten)
- 1 tablespoon onion (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon Mortons Nature Seasonings
- 1 cup milk
- 1 6 oz. corn muffin mix
- ¼ cup butter (melted)
- 1 pound ground pork sausage, sauteed
- ½ pound colby/monterey jack cheese, shredded
- ½ teaspoon paprika
How To Make
Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
Saute sausage with onion until pink has disappeared.
In a large bowl, add milk to beaten eggs, and mix cooked grits, corn muffin mix, onion and Nature Seasonings.
Spread sausage mixture on bottom of a greased 9x12 pan. Add grits mixture and shredded cheese. Sprinkle top with paprika.
Bake for about 1 hour or until firm in the middle. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Prep time: 15 min. Cook time: 1 hour 15 min. Serves: 8.
